Asian Women's Shelter (AWS) recognizes the importance of
protecting information we may collect from visitors to our
site. Our policy is to use the information we acquire from
visitors to our site for internal purposes only, and we maintain
appropriate security measures to keep this information
private. Users can visit the site without revealing any
personally identifying information about them. If you choose
to give us personal information via the Internet for the purposes
of correspondence, making a donation, or providing a subscription
to our newsletter, then it is our intent to let you know how we
will use such information. If users tell us that they do not
wish to have this information used as a basis for further contact,
we will respect those wishes.
Security
This site has security measures in place to protect the loss,
misuse and alteration of the information under our control.
ASIAN WOMEN'S SHELTER takes precautions to keep the user
information disclosed to us secure, and such information will not
be disclosed to third parties for commercial purposes. Asian
Women's Shelter will not rent or sell your personal information
disclosed through the website to third parties. Asian Women's
Shelter will not disclose personally identifiable information to
any third party without consent.
If you provide an email address or other personal information
(excluding financial information) when you visit our site, we
may enter such information into our data base so we can contact you
to ask your input, provide information about our programs and
events, and request contributions. If you would like us to
withhold your information from such an exchange, please contact
us.
Use of Cookies
Certain sections of the AWS web site use "cookies" to store user
information. A cookie is a small string of text that a web
site can send to your browser. A cookie cannot retrieve any
other data from your hard drive, pass on computer viruses, or
capture your email address. Currently, web sites use cookies
to enhance the user's visit; in general, cookies can securely store

Log Files
Like most standard website servers we use log files. This
helps us understand how people are using our site so we can make
the site even better. This includes internet protocol (IP)
addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP),
referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp and number of
clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's
movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information
for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally
identifiable information.
Secure Online Donations
Donations and event registrations made on-line to ASIAN WOMEN'S
SHELTER are made through WebLink, the SafeSave gateway of
DonorPerfect. All data is hosted via Payment Card Industry
(PCI) Data Security Standards for encrypting and securely
transmitting credit card data. When there is a need to store
cardholder data -- for instance to automatically process a monthly
pledge, DonorPerfect uses a Level 1 PCI-Certified Gateway to
securely store the data. Your donation record will just
contain a "SafeSave Vault ID" that uniquely identifies that
securely stored data. Your payment account data is not kept
on our computer, network or server.
